Classroom Holiday Party Plan with Games - LITTLE PREP!!
Ahhhh… that week is finally upon us! We are so ready for our extended holiday break, but a few crucial days lie ahead. These days include crazy students, tons of sugar, and tons of unstructured time. Luckily, I have outlined a few games you can use to spruce up your classroom holiday party!! The best part?? Most involve little to no prep!!
Holiday Bingo Bonanza
Give a classic game a seasonal twist with Holiday Bingo. Create bingo cards with festive symbols or words related to the holidays, and let the excitement unfold as students mark off items on their cards. For a quick prep variation, check out this product that includes enough bingo cards for your class!!
Snowball Toss Showdown
Turn ordinary paper into snowballs and transform your classroom into a winter wonderland. Divide students into teams and let them toss their snowballs into designated point zones. The team with the most points at the end wins a chilly victory. Minimal prep required – just crumple some paper beforehand!
Ornament Relay Race
Give a relay race a festive twist by incorporating holiday ornaments. Set up a relay course with different tasks at each station – perhaps balancing an ornament on a spoon, or threading it through a candy cane obstacle. This game requires minimal prep and guarantees maximum fun.
Winter Wonderland Escape Room
Math problems?? On the day of the holiday party??? Welllllll, the mood in the room will change drastically when they realize it involves an escape room. Use any TPT escape room, or click here to utilize one that is winter themed! I even included a recording sheet so students show their work!! This is NO PREP and will give students additional practice with word problems!
Deck the Halls Scavenger Hunt
Create a holiday-themed scavenger hunt by hiding small festive items around the classroom. Provide students with a list of clues or riddles leading them to the hidden treasures. This activity requires little prep – just hide the items before the party begins.
Jingle Bell Limbo
Add a musical twist to the classic limbo game by incorporating jingle bells. Students can shimmy and shake their way under the limbo stick while the festive jingles play in the background. All you need is some holiday music and a makeshift limbo stick – a broom works wonders!
Santa Says
A holiday spin on Simon Says, Santa Says is a playful game that requires no prep. Give festive commands like "Santa says hop on one foot" or "Santa says dance like a reindeer," and watch as the laughter ensues. Just ensure you don't forget to say "Santa says" before each command.
Candy Cane Hook Relay
Turn candy canes into hooks for this amusing relay race. Students use the candy cane hook to pick up and transfer small objects from one end of the room to the other. It's a simple, no-prep game that adds a sweet touch to your holiday celebration.
Incorporate these easy and festive games into your classroom holiday party, and you're sure to create lasting memories for your students. Happy holidays and enjoy the joyous moments with your spirited learners!
